Zander has been moved to an open crib. He's been eating about an ounce of breastmilk every three hours. He will need to eat twice that when he comes home. He is getting a little too tired from bottle feeding, so they'll be letting him sleep. If he's awake at feeding time, they'll bottle feed him, but if not, they'll just tube feed him. It's up to him to decide if he has the energy.
His feeding tube has been put into his nose. I guess he pulled it out of his mouth before. They have also removed the veinous line from his belly button, and put in a new line into his head. He will be receiving his medications through that. They will be giving him prevacid, not for heartburn, but to help stimulate the digestive process, since he's not digesting his food quite fast enough. There's still a bit left in his tummy when it's time to eat again.
